Plan a reserve before the next tax deadline.
Annual recommended reserve
$15,000.00
Federal payment deadlines
Standard federal deadlines adjusted for weekends and DC Emancipation Day. Disaster relief, other holidays and state rules may differ; confirm with the IRS.
Why it matters
Self-employed income does not always arrive with tax already withheld. A quarterly reserve can help you plan cash flow rather than treating every deposit as spendable money. This calculator gives you an annual reserve and an equal quarterly amount using a percentage you choose. It does not calculate an actual tax return.
How it works
Enter annual self-employed income, deductible expenses and a reserve rate. The default rate is 30%, matching the app. Expenses are subtracted from income without allowing the estimate to fall below zero. The remaining amount is multiplied by your percentage and divided by four. Select a year to see its payment deadlines.
A worked example
For example, $60,000 income less $10,000 deductible expenses leaves $50,000. A 30% reserve is $15,000 annually, or $3,750 per quarter. Equal quarters are a planning shortcut; actual estimated payments may depend on uneven income, prior-year taxes, credits and other earnings. Federal deadlines shift for weekends and holidays. Check current IRS guidance and consult a tax professional before making payments. Your public inputs stay unsaved.
