Loan Payoff Calculator
Put a date and a cost beside your debt.
Estimates only. Actual rates, taxes, fees, and terms vary by lender. Not financial advice.
Why it matters
A loan balance alone does not tell you when the debt will be gone. Your rate and monthly payment determine how much reaches principal and how much goes toward interest. This calculator gives you a simple way to explore those trade-offs before changing a payment plan.
How it works
Choose a personal loan, credit card, student loan or other debt. Enter the current balance and APR, then either a monthly payment or a target number of months. The other value updates immediately. Interest is calculated monthly, with the final payment capped at the remaining amount owed.
A worked example
For example, a $10,000 balance at 12% APR accrues $100 of interest in the first month. Paying only $50 does not reduce that balance, so the calculator flags the payment as too low. Choose a higher payment or a fixed payoff term to see a workable estimate. Promotional rates, variable APRs, new purchases and fees can change the actual timeline. Confirm terms with your lender.
